Green Building: The Inside Story (Benefits We Can Breathe In)
This article was co-written, by myself and a mentor, when I was the HVAC consultant on the first LEED certified project we performed back in 2009, earning a Silver certification. I concluded, after construction was finished, that indoor air quality was not only important for the future occupants, but also the contractors performing the installation.
This article gives tips and examples of what contractors can do to protect the health of occupants, as well as their workers, by maximizing the quality of indoor air conditions. Keep in mind, we spend about 90% of our lives indoors, so this is an important topic, which goes unnoticed far too often.
